Attention of: All Type II Transit (TS) customers

Subject: Ford Transit chassis recall

Please note that Ford has issued a safety recall on all Transit chassis that were built between January 17th, 2014 and June 15th, 2017. If you have received this message, your vehicle has been affected by the recall.

This recall states that the affected vehicles driveshaft flexible couplings may crack with increasing mileage, resulting in driveline noise and vibration. Continued driving with a cracked flexible coupling results in additional damage to the driveshaft and surrounding components.

For vehicles with more than 30,000 miles, bring your vehicle to a Ford dealership to replace the driveshaft flexible coupling. Click the following link to find your local dealership: http://www.ford.com/dealerships/.

For vehicles with less than 30,000 miles, bring the vehicle to a Ford dealership when the vehicle’s mileage approaches 30,000 miles. Click the following link to find your local dealership: http://www.ford.com/dealerships/.

These repairs are an interim solution, replacing driveshaft flexible couplings at every 30,000 miles, until Ford announces a permanent repair of the issue, at what time you will be advised.

We are sorry for the inconvenience and will keep advised of Ford’s progress on the issue. Please contact your local Ford dealership for more information.
