Demers Engineering

The Demers Engineering staff of 30+ people includes Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Mechanical and Electrical Design Technicians as well as Mechanical Craftsmen responsible for the manufacturing of prototype vehicles. All are dedicated to innovation throughout the engineering process, paying tremendous attention to any and every detail that can contribute to a stronger, safer, smarter ambulance.

Our engineering team is central to our mission: to exceed industry standards and delight our customers, building innovative ambulances that DELIVER on customer expectations and assist them in saving lives.

OUR 5 MAIN OBJECTIVES IN PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

Design and develop innovative products to meet customers' needs.

Design begins with 3D drawings of the vehicle. All parts are designed in 3D CAD using ProEngineer to exact tolerances for fabrication and assembly. Each component of the vehicle is designed and inserted into the 3D model to validate fit and function. All Demers designed parts are drawn in detail in order to be manufactured
by various suppliers. 3D Design.

Each vehicle has a complete Bill of Materials documentation, which enables us to reproduce an unlimited quantity of identical vehicles.

Offer flexible product lines.

Our vehicles are designed to allow chassis permutations and a multitude of options, so that each of our vehicles can be adapted to the specific needs of our customers.

Standardize common components and design principles across vehicle platforms.

Our component selection is standardized as much as possible across our product line-up.

This allows us to:

  • Keep parts inventories low
  • Gain long term product performance knowledge
  • Reduce our costs by purchasing larger quantities
  • Increase product usage and allow for easier long term product planning requirements
  • Maintain an efficient production delivery time and increase quality assurance of the products
    for a longer life cycle.

Reduce costs by design.

We have integrated a design philosophy that keeps parts—even major parts—as simple as possible while optimizing functionality.

This philosophy allows us:

  • Simplified assembly of components for increased efficiency of the production line
  • Aerodynamic roof design: up to 12% fuel economy thanks to its aerodynamic properties
  • Reduced maintenance through the use of lightweight materials that decrease excessive stress on the chassis.

Fully Tested and Certified Products.

  • Model platforms are available in multiple regions which have specific test standards (KKK, Ontario MOH, Quebec BNQ, etc.)
  • Our products are always tested to the most stringent standards, allowing us to offer the product to the widest possible range of customers
  • 90% of all testing is done in-house, supervised by the regional inspector to ensure testing conformity. This allows us to tailor specific tests to the customer’s requirements
