How a former EMS chief supports Ontario ambulance procurement

For EMS leaders, keeping ambulances reliable, safe, and available is a constant priority. In a province where demand is high and replacement cycles are pressured by long lead times, many look to trusted partners who understand operational realities. That is where Andrew Robert, regional sales manager for Ontario and Atlantic Canada, centres his work. His approach to Ontario ambulance sales is grounded in field experience, transparency, and a commitment to supporting the teams who keep communities safe.

Ambulance sales grounded in paramedic experience

Andrew began his career as a paramedic in Windsor, Ontario. Over time, he moved into roles that shaped clinical practice, procurement standards, and EMS operations. His work contributed to province-wide improvements, including equipment standardization and developing grants for public access defibrillator programs. One of his most meaningful contributions was helping establish protocols for cardiac care, a shift he describes as “changing the standard of care across Ontario.”

This background now guides how he supports fleet managers and chiefs: practical, informed, and rooted in how decisions affect crews in the care module.

Understanding EMS fleet realities

When Andrew joined the Demers and Crestline team, he focused on learning the full product families and the manufacturing environment behind them. Today, he works closely with Ontario EMS services navigating extended renewal cycle and aging vehicles in service. His priority is clear scheduling, realistic planning, and advocating internally for improvements that help customers keep their fleets operating safely.

His goal is to be viewed not simply as a sales contact but as an extension of each EMS service. By aligning manufacturing updates with operational needs, he supports decision-makers working to maintain availability and manage costs.

Growing relationships across Ontario and Atlantic Canada

The coming year is centred on expanding his knowledge of ambulance configurations, strengthening partnerships, and adapting to customer expectations as the industry evolves. Andrew anticipates that the role of regional sales manager will continue to shift with new technology, from electrification to increasing digital connectivity.

For Ontario fleet managers and chiefs, his approach remains consistent: attentive, informed, and responsive to the operational pressures EMS services face.

As Andrew settles into his second year, his focus reflects Demers’ broader commitment: engineering solutions that support paramedics, easing the strain on fleets, and maintaining close collaboration with the EMS community. His work reinforces the partnership approach that defines Demers Ambulances.
