Demers at PCC Leadership Summit 2026: Conversations that drive innovation

From June 3 to 5, nearly 200 paramedic leaders, delegates and industry partners gathered in Calgary for the 2026 Paramedic Chiefs of Canada (PCC) Leadership Summit. As Gold Sponsors of the event, Demers Ambulances and Crestline Ambulances were proud to connect with paramedic services leaders from across the country and take part in conversations shaping the future of paramedic care.

Listening to the needs of paramedic services

For the Demers and Crestline teams, the greatest value of the summit came from the opportunity to connect directly with customers and frontline leaders.

Across discussions, several themes emerged. Community paramedicine continues to grow, creating new expectations for vehicle design and functionality. Leaders also shared perspectives on access to emergency care, highlighting the unique realities of provincial and regional service models across Canada.

Vehicle design remained a recurring topic. Attendees discussed the practical needs of paramedics both in the front cabin and, most importantly, in the patient compartment, where workflow, ergonomics and accessibility directly impact daily operations.

Fleet management was another key focus, including the availability of new vehicles and opportunities to extend the lifecycle of existing ambulances by redeploying them to regions with fewer resources.

Collaboration on display

Outside the Westin Calgary, delegates had the opportunity to explore three ambulance units that reflected the value of collaboration between manufacturers and paramedic services.

Demers showcased two vehicles: the award-winning FXP 174 Type I and the versatile TS Type II. We extend a special thank you to Guardian Ambulance Ltd. from Medavie Health Services West for partnering with us to display their vehicle during the event.

Crestline presented its FleetMax Next Generation Type III ambulance, developed in partnership with Toronto Paramedic Services. The project demonstrates how customer feedback and operational expertise can help create solutions tailored to the needs of crews, patients, and communities.

The vehicles sparked valuable discussions around patient care, crew safety, ergonomics, operational efficiency and the future of ambulance design. More importantly, they served as a catalyst for meaningful dialogue between industry partners and the professionals who rely on these vehicles every day.

We would like to thank the Paramedic Chiefs of Canada for organizing another successful summit and creating an environment that encourages collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Most importantly, thank you to all the delegates, customers and partners who took the time to visit with our team. We look forward to continuing these conversations and supporting the future of paramedic care across Canada.
