Ontario ambulance service Centre: Services in action with OEM oversight

The doors are open at the Ontario Ambulance Service Centre, operations are in full swing, and we’re just getting started. Last month, we shared how this initiative was built around one priority: delivering stronger local support for Ontario customers. The Bolton facility was designed to:

  • Improve access to service
  • Reduce ambulance downtime
  • Bring OEM expertise closer to the communities our customers serve.

That commitment continues today. The technicians supporting the centre completed extensive OEM training directly at the plant and are equipped with the knowledge required to service and maintain both Demers and Crestline ambulances. From PDI and commissioning to ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting, every service performed at Bolton is overseen with the same standards and processes used across our established service centres.

First services underway with Durham Region

Durham Region was among the first to move forward with us as operations began at the Ontario Ambulance Service Centre.

As an existing OEM partner, Durham chose to be part of this beginning phase. With new vehicles ready in their yard and a large active fleet already on the road, their priority remained keeping frontline units operational. Rather than diverting internal resources, they worked closely with us to ensure the new facility could properly support their needs. From the outset, we sat at the table together. Open communication and transparency were essential.

As this marked the first services completed at a new facility with newly trained teams, success was measured by collaboration. Every step was reviewed, discussed, and aligned to ensure the work met OEM standards and Durham’s expectations. Our role was to ensure the right infrastructure, processes, and resources were in place to support them.

Their role was to engage, provide feedback, and help refine the process in real time. That shared commitment helped establish a strong foundation for how this centre will operate going forward. We are proud to work with Durham during this initial phase. True success in service is built on partnership, and this early collaboration reflects the trust and shared responsibility that define our OEM relationships.

Looking ahead, we will also be supporting Halton Region as part of this next phase. Installation work is planned for laptop sleeves and other ordered components across their fleet of 36 vehicles. By working together, these installations can be completed through the Bolton centre, allowing Halton’s internal teams to remain focused on their operational priorities.

“From day one, our focus has been on putting the right standards and oversight in place. The technicians have completed OEM training, and we remain closely involved to ensure quality and consistency. The workspace is now up to our standards, the team is engaged, and they’re eager to continue learning. We trust them, and we’re there to make sure every ambulance meets the expectations our customers rely on.”

How to schedule a service at the Bolton centre

Scheduling service at the Bolton centre is simple and coordinated through our existing customer care process.

  1. Ontario customers can contact Customer Care directly to request service.
  2. Once the request is received, Customer Care will dispatch the vehicle to the Bolton facility.
  3. Our Demers Crestline Customer Care Service team will oversee the logistics, handle documentation, inspections, and invoicing, and coordinate directly with the Bolton team to ensure a seamless experience.
  4. All service records and required documentation will be provided to the customer through this established channel.

To make the process as convenient as possible, there are two options for bringing your vehicle in. After your appointment is confirmed, the Bolton Customer Care team can arrange to pick up your vehicle at your location and transport it to the centre.

Our goal is to make access to OEM service straightforward, coordinated, and efficient from the first call to vehicle return.

We are proud to begin this new chapter with our Ontario customers through this additional facility. Our commitment is not only about getting vehicles back on the road faster. It is about ensuring every ambulance is cared for with the same attention and expertise that went into building it. With trained technicians on the ground and ongoing oversight from our OEM team, day-to-day operations are closely monitored so every vehicle leaves the facility fully mission-ready.

Ontario, our Bolton centre is at your service, ready to support you so you can continue serving your communities with confidence.
