Demers Ambulances is announcing an important leadership transition and the appointment of Andrew Robert as the new Regional Sales Manager for Ontario and Atlantic Canada. This change supports Demers’ long-term commitment to EMS organizations seeking dependable guidance for Ontario ambulance sales, lifecycle planning, and configuration decisions.
This transition follows the upcoming retirement of Fred Laurin, who will conclude a distinguished career in March 2024 after more than 19 years with Demers Ambulances and over three decades in the EMS sector. His impact within the organization and across the province has been lasting, and the company extends its appreciation for his contribution.
Welcoming a new leader for Ontario and Atlantic Canada
As Demers prepares for a smooth transition, the organization is proud to welcome Andrew Robert to the role. With a 38-year career in EMS, including more than two decades in senior leadership, he brings extensive experience in operations, procurement, and capital planning. Most recently, Andrew served over 17 years as Director and Chief of Paramedic Services for the County of Simcoe.
His background gives him a strong understanding of the operational realities, budget cycles, and technical requirements central to informed ambulance procurement decisions across the region.
A structured transition for EMS partners
To ensure continuity for EMS agencies during this change, Andrew and Fred will collaborate over the coming months through a structured knowledge-transfer plan. This process is designed to maintain the responsive service and close relationships that customers across Ontario and Atlantic Canada expect from Demers.
Both will meet directly with EMS leaders in the weeks ahead to address questions and support planning for future fleet needs. Demers Ambulances also looks forward to reconnecting with services during the Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs Fall Symposium at Blue Mountain later this month.
