Since our founding in Beloeil, Quebec in 1960, Demers Ambulances has remained grounded in one simple but powerful principle: staying close to the real needs of the field. Honouring our founder and the roots that shaped us
Demers Ambulances began with the vision of Paul Demers. In the 1960s, drawing from his family’s legacy of building funeral vehicles, Paul responded to the urgent needs of his community. Working behind the funeral home in Beloeil, he converted a vehicle into the first Demers ambulance. This bold step laid the foundation for what would become North America’s longest-standing ambulance manufacturer.
Paul created something far greater than vehicles. He instilled a culture of connection, attentive listening, and a relentless pursuit of better prehospital safety. His legacy continues to influence every value we stand by today.
